We used to dread winter…now we're outside in shorts, walking our dog and it's so great…we have a small boat…being out on the ocean is what we love most. It's why we've driven our motorhome here (to Florida) since 2016 (except during Covid restrictions)…

Over $160 Billion in US Residential Real Estate is Foreign Owned. Canadians are the Single Biggest Investors with a Good Deal of their Money Invested in Florida's Residential & Resort Real Estate. Many are Selling though. Many Tourists are also Staying Away. Why?
US real estate experts from Arizona to Florida are reporting a flood of Canadian-owned properties being put up for sale by, among others, disgruntled Canadian snowbirds.
Canadians have rightfully reacted with anger and bewilderment at the Trump administrations' attacks on Canadian sovereignty, the illegal imposition of costly tariffs on their closest ally, best friend and #1 trading partner, and the repeated jokes and comments about Canada becoming the 51st State - although these comments have tapered off.
Realtors and news outlets in places like Florida, Arizona, California and Montana are telling us that there's a steady stream of foreigners listing their US real estate holdings, taking untold billions out of the US economy with the intent of investing in other countries. The government's own data shows that these actions are primarily motivated because of 2 things, the tariffs and the Trump administration.
Canadians and other foreign tourists are continuing to boycott the US travel scene for similar reasons ie: Denmark. Canadians are the #1 foreign tourist market for the USA. Estimates are that the Canadian boycott alone will cost the US economy nearly $8.1 billion in lost revenues this year and it could get worse (reporting as of Sept 2025).
