Looking for a New Vacation Home Destination?
We Can Help.
We put the Spotlight on popular, top rated destinations including a few of our team's favourites such as Australia, Belize, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama,
Portugal, Philippines, and Thailand

Australia
The Gold Coast
Welcome to the southern Gold Coast, a lively metropolitan area and snowbird destination located just south of Brisbane, where beautiful sandy beaches and exciting tourist zones are just the beginning. Purchase or rent the perfect snowbird property. Vacation homes and long term rentals are our Australia-based realtor team's specialty. Canadians will enjoy all the urban attractions and conveniences including, of course, the beaches. While nature buffs will appreciate the Gold Coast's many regional hiking trails including Lamington National Park, where rainforests and rare bird species await your discovery.
Mexico
Expat Communities for Snowbirds
For decades Mexico has been a destination haven for vacationers, expats and snowbirds flying south for the winter. Traditional expat resort locations like Puerto Vallarta, Lake Chapala, Merida, San Miguel de Allende, Playa del Carmen, Manzanillo, and Cabo San Lucas are ever-popular for Canadians looking for vacation homes for sale and long term rentals.

Portugal
The #1 Destination in Europe for Canadian Snowbirds
Portugal has always been a favourite destination for Canadian Snowbirds especially those from eastern Canada. From the islands of the Azores in the mid-Atlantic to the sensational Algarve Coast and the nation's capital city, Lisbon, Portugal is as diverse as it is divine. Unforgettable for its hospitality, its superb Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and its carefully preserved ancient medieval era architecture.
Belize
Central America's Laid Back Choice for Expats
Belize offers great affordability for vacationers, remote workers, expats and snowbirds. Its Caribbean coast line is adorned by white sand beaches amid popular tourist zones. Affordable resort living and a slow paced way of life are key to Belize's attraction with Canada's snowbirds.

Costa Rica
A Favourite Snowbird Destination Especially for Western Canadians
With direct flights from Vancouver to Costa Rica you can arrive in as little as 7 hours and be on your way, via ground transportation, to popular tourist spots like Papagayo Peninsula, La Fortuna, San Jose, Tamarindo, and Jaco.
Cuba
Endless Beaches, Soulful Music
Cuba, population 11.2 million, is a bit of an enigma for many travellers. The island's capitol city, Havana, experienced years in the limelight during the 40s and 50s when the idle rich, famous movie stars, US politicians, gangsters, artists, novelists and musicians flocked to the island to experience its rich Spanish African culture. Then, with the rise of Fidel's communist regime, the island fell silent for Americans after the famous Bay of Pigs fiasco. Canadians however, have always had a special relationship with the Cuban people and that continues to flourish to this day.

Dominican Republic
The 2nd Largest Island in the Caribbean
The Dominican has long been a vacation sanctuary for Canadians travelling to the Caribbean. For snowbirds, the Dominican provides a low cost of living, a pleasant tropical climate, and plenty of ways to enjoy the natural surroundings. Vacation home properties are available for the discerning Canadian Snowbird buyer.
Japan
The Land of The Rising Sun
During our 2024 10-day trip to Japan, we readily found incredible food for as little as $10 including steaming bowls of soul soothing Ramen and savoury Katsu (fried breaded pork and chicken cutlets) with rich, luxurious sauces and great rice of course. Legendary delicious snacks and take-away foods from 7-11 and Lawson stores! NOT at all like their North American versions. Lawson's egg salad sandwiches were the bomb as per Anthony Bourdain's over the top recommendation! 7-11's crispy fried chicken, ultra thick and fluffy pancakes, fresh sashimi and sushi, self serve smoothies and iced coffees were all fantastic and relatively cheap too.
Our hotel rooms in Kyoto and Tokyo and our Air BnB in Osaka were all gorgeous, super clean and well-located with high walkability scores. Our Tokyo hotel rooms were in a swank hotel, the APA Hotel & Resort Roppongi-Eki-Higashi, that sparkled like a giant jewellery box for just under $140 Canadian per night. The hotel rooms may have been on the small side, but they were refined and well-appointed with truly fine linens. The Osaka Air BnB was very spacious, tastefully furnished, well equipped with all the essentials and it featured a private elevator right into our suite.

Panama
Tourism is Flourishing
Over the past five years tourism in Panama has experienced consistent growth, driven by government tax breaks and price reductions for foreign visitors and retirees. These financial incentives have positioned Panama as an attractive retirement destination for expats, retirees and snowbirds. In response to the rising interest in these benefits, real estate developers have been offering more resort condos, apartments and vacation homes for sale in a number of tourism destinations throughout the country.
Philippines
The Philippines Offers Remarkable Affordability and Stunning Snowbird Vacation Destinations
Although a bit far-flung, the Philippines is emerging as a top destination for snowbirds and remote workers to escape the Canadian winters. Snowbird locations such as Bantayan Island and Boracay offer the best resort experiences and a plethora of vacation homes perfect for Canadian Snowbirds.

Shuswap BC
Sicamous, Mara & Shuswap Lakes
A traditional playground destination for BC and Alberta travellers, snowbirds, RV campers and lake lovers alike. Sicamous is snuggled on the lakefront of both Shuswap Lake and Mara Lake. Ripe with fruit stands selling the freshest of BC's seasonal fruits, Sicamous is at the cradle of a lake, mountain, beach, forest, orchard and vineyard oasis. The Shuswap region offers phenomenal recreation for all ages and abilities and its milder climate and lush environment encourage outdoor activities.

Vancouver Island
Vancouver Island, One of the World's Top Islands
Vancouver Island is blessed by one of the warmest climates in Canada, and since the mid-1990s has been mild enough, in a few areas, to grow Mediterranean crops such as olives and lemons if you can believe that! Vancouver Island was chosen as one of the Top Islands in the World by Condé Nast Traveler Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards
